From Mariah Carey, to Celine Dion, to Kelly Clarkson, many divas have paid homage to legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin. Here are five times other artists have done the Queen of Soul justice.

Aretha Franklin died Thursday at the age of 76, reportedly after a bout with cancer. Her final public performance was actually in our area, at the Mann Center in Philly August of last year.

Mariah Carey, 'Don't Play That Song'

Although a b-side, this is my all-time favorite Aretha Franklin song. Mariah covered this very early in her career, for a showcase back in 1990.

    Kelly Clarkson, 'Chain of Fools'

Kelly belted out one of Aretha's best known songs during her time on American Idol.

Demi Lovato, '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman'

This anthemic ballad really requires a vocalist with range. Few singers have it like Aretha, but Demi Lovato is one of them.

Alicia Keys, 'I Never Loved a Man'

Alicia pulls the power and despair from this song and makes it all her own.

Whitney Houston w/Mary J. Blige, 'Ain't No Way'

Whitney had a lifelong relationship with the Queen of Soul. Aretha even makes a cameo in Houston's hit video 'How Will I Know'. But even Whitney knows when you're taking on an Aretha track like 'Ain't No Way', you need to enlist some other diva power.
