March 14th is National Napping Day! These are five essentials you'll need to celebrate accordingly.

Okay, so I have literally zero idea who comes up with these days. BUT Happy National Napping Day! Just in time after daylight savings if you're still feeling a little groggy after losing that hour of sleep on Sunday.

FYI: It's also National Pi Day, and National Potato Chip day. You might want to make a pie, or eat some potato chips to celebrate also.

Here are MY five essentials for a successful nap on National Napping Day:

  • 1

    THE PRE-NAP

What's a pre-nap? It's the activity you do right before you get ready to nap. Personally I like to read a book right before hand to get me sleepy enough that I'll drift off. But some other options can include: meditation, Netflix, or even my personal favorite...wine.

  • 2

    SLEEP-WEAR

What you wear is vital for how well you'll sleep. Get some fresh pajamas or even sleep au natural. I've read in a few places that sleeping in your birthday suit actually guarantees the best sleep!

  • 3

    PILLOWS

The fluffier the better. I prefer to be surrounded by pillows, and one pillow to cuddle with...yes, I cuddle a pillow.

  • 4

    THE PERFECT POSITION

You know which one. It's the position that after we toss and turn, it makes us go 'ah, that's the one.'

  • 5

    TEMPERATURE

You'll be surprised how temperature can affect your sleep. I've noticed I prefer to sleep with my temperature no higher than 60. Set the perfect temperature that won't interrupt your nap!
