5 Albums That Turn 20 Years Old in 2016
2016 will bring a year of new albums from some of our favorite artists, and likely some unforgettable debut albums from breakout artists. Here are five albums we were obsessed with back in 1996 that will celebrate their 20th anniversary this year!
- Fugees
The Score
Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras captured lightening in a bottle on their second, and sadly, final album together. The collection spawned hits like 'Fu-Gee-La' and a cover of the classic 'Killing Me Softly'.
- The Wallflowers
Bringing Down the Horse
Fronted by Jakob Dylan, the youngest of Bob Dylan's five children with wife Sara, The Wallflowers achieved worldwide success off their second album, which scored four Top 40 hits, including the massively popular 'One Headlight'.
- Sublime
Sublime
The self-titled Sublime album was the band's third and final as a band. The punk-ska group formed in Long Beach, California gave us the generational anthems 'What I Got' and 'Santeria'.
- Beck
Odelay
Beck's second official studio album couldn't be taken less of a 'Loser' turn. It's retro and psychedelic vibe sent fans towards a completely different, yet fresh, direction thanks to song like the Grammy-nominated 'Where It's At'.
- Fiona Apple
Tidal
Who could forget haunting tracks like 'Shadow Boxer', 'Sleep to Dream', and the song that made Apple a household name, 'Criminal'.
