Happy first day of fall, South Jersey! Let the spine-chilling festivities begin.

Fall time is back to school (hooray!), spooky movies, silly costumes and fun and easy treats everyone in your family can enjoy. We’re talking about eyeball cookies that gleam neon monster colors, pumpkin patch dirt cups, or if you don’t like your cookies looking at you, tasty and easy candy corn Rice Krispy treats.

Before pie baking season, or your attempt at that new pie recipe you found on Pinterest, (we’re talking to you lattice pie crusts) it’s important to warm up your baking chops with some cute easy fall themed treats your kids can enjoy in their school lunches or as an afternoon snack, or as a snack after their snack…Below are some fall snacks that made our list of favorites for Autumn 2016.

    • 1 White Cake Mix Box
    • ½ cup butter softened
    • ½ tsp. vanilla
    • 1 8 oz. Cream Cheese Bar softened
    • 1 egg Powdered Sugar
    • Food Coloring
    • Candy Eyeballs

    Pumpkin Patch Dirt Cups

    What you'll need:

    • A package of instant chocolate pudding
    • Two packages of Oreos
    • Pumpkin candies
    • Green sour punch straws
    • Clear plastic cups

    Fall Snack Mix

    What you'll need:

    • 6 cups Chex or Crispix cereal
    • 1 cup pretzels
    • 6 tablespoons butter melted
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 cup Reese’s pieces or M+M’s
    • 1 cup mini marshmallows
    • 1 cup candy corn.
