The overnight snowfall left even many salted, major New Jersey highways tricky to travel, and crash on the turnpike this morning near Cherry Hill left three people dead.

The one-car crash happened approximately 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the turnpike, just south of Route 70 near the Walt Whitman Service Plaza, 6abc.com reports.

The driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee reportedly lost control, leaving the roadway, and crashing into trees, according to NJ State Police.

The car's occupants were pinned in the wreckage, and they all died as a result of their injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
