2-Year-Old Killed In Vineland Car Accident

Yet another death of a child in Vineland as a 2-year-old is struck and killed by her mother in the driveway.
Family members told The Press of Atlantic City that the toddler's name was Jaelise Rodriguez and said the accident occurred in the driveway at the home of the child's paternal grandparents around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night. The family members said the girl's mother had gone there to pick her up along with the toddler's two older brothers, and they believe she didn't see the child in the driveway.
“It’s hard to explain what we feel,” paternal grandfather Ramon Rodriguez told the Press of Atlantic City. . “Grandpas are an extension (of the parents). We love probably more.”
Neighbors came to offer condolences on Sunday at a makeshift memorial that was put up near the driveway leaving teddy bears and candles.
No charges have been filed, though authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
14-year-old Jermire Lowery, a freshman at Vineland High School, died on Monday when the 17-year-old driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu he was a passenger in lost control and hit a 1986 GMC truck parked on Almond Road.
