Not everyone can live by the beach or frequently go multiple times a week. Are you a forgetful person, or have never gotten the chance to go to the beach and develop a bag-packing habit? Check out these items to keep on your checklist for what you’ll need to remember on your day long excursion.

  • 1

    Beach Chair/Towel

Both of them are not uncommonly forgotten, but at least one of them is. Most guys actually forget to bring a towel with them when they go to the beach because they don’t think that they’ll need it. However, the towel isn’t always for tanning, it can also be used to dry yourself off when you come out of the ocean.

  • 2

    Umbrella

An umbrella is an essential to shield you from the sun. A little cool shade provides a space for you to get a breather from the hot rays or if your skin is sensitive to burning. Food and water also stays fresher in the shade than in the sun.

  • 3

    Cash

Who doesn’t like to get a refreshing ice cream when they are on the beach? Maybe you like going to a beach that requires daily tags. Whatever the reason, having cash on you is extremely important just in case you need to buy something.

  • 4

    Change of Clothes

Having an extra shirt is always important, especially if you start to burn. Having a t-shirt with you when you go to the beach can be the difference between a terrible burn or just a really bad tank top tan line. Trust me.

  • 5

    Speaker

It’s always nice to have some music on while relaxing by the ocean. So remember a speaker system so that you can kick back, relax, and listen to some great tunes with all of your friends. Just remember to have your phone charged so that you don’t run out of battery halfway through the beach day.

  • 6

    Sunscreen

Most people will put sunscreen on before they go onto the beach, however, those people will actually end up burning because they forget to reapply. Bringing sunscreen onto the beach can help prevent that because it gives you a way to stay in the sun without having to worry about a sunburn.

  • 7

    Bottled Water

The most important thing that people forget to bring with them to the beach. Lying out in the sun all day can dehydrate you, so remember to always pack plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.

  • 8

    Ziploc Bags

If you ever want to bring food onto the beach, this is the best way to do it. Ziploc bags are easily disposable and can carry all kinds of food, including snacks or even small meals.

  • 9

    Camera

The beach can provide you with many beautiful backdrops. Especially if you are lucky enough to be there at sunrise or sunset. To capture these kind of amazing colors streaking across the sky, bring a disposable camera so that you can take a photo without the possibility of ruining your phone with sand or water damage.

    A Jacket

The ocean breeze can get a bit strong and chilly at night. A jacket or sweatshirt is cozy enough so you can enjoy a nighttime walk or a fun time on any of South Jersey's boardwalks.
